Immucor (BLUD) stock was up 5.7% to $18.91 on news that the DOJ closed its anti-trust investigation. The stock hit a low in early October when it slashed guidance due to lower utility of blood transfusion services.The Company is  a leader in automated blood transfusion systems but still faces litigation regarding price fixing and regulatory issues rergarding quality with the FDA.

Illumina (ILMN) stock hit a new all time high today of $57.22. The stock is up 6 points or  10 % since earnings  released on October 26 reported a 50% increase in revenue and earnings of $35.4M or 24 cents a share. New product announcements have also boosted ILMN outlook such as the HiSeq/TruSeq sequencing family that will enable the Company to sustain its market share lead.

Complete Genomics(GNOM) is expected to price its IPO tomorrow for a 6M share offering.GNOM will offer human sequencing services and that could eventually face competition from ILMN should they decide to pursue services rather than hardware.

NeoGen (NEOG) announced AOAC approval for its rapid test for Salmonella enteritidis(SE) that can be used by the egg industry for a quick accurate and easy method to detect this pathogen, as new SE -regulations are implemented by the FDA.

Sequenom (SQNM) announced third quarter financial results on November 4 with total Q3 Revenue of $11.7M up 27% from prior year quarter. Net loss was $22.7M partly due to litigation expenses. All revenues were from lab developed tests (LDT) utilizing the Company’s MassARRAY genetic analysis platform and 11 research use only units were shipped in Q3 . The Company gave an update of its clinical development program with Trisomy 21  test “on schedule” announcing a large validation study by end of Q4 and an  Age related Macular Generation(AMD) LDT  to be available by mid 2011. The stock is up 10% on heavy volume to $7.36  since last week’s update.
