Update-4 5/23/24…XBI down 3% to $89 handle, rates up =risk off, But S&P hold 5200. NVDA rules nothing else in broad sell-off.
Update-3 5/22…XBI is holding the $92 level and several SMID stocks show gains:ADPT, CRNX,CRSP, PACB, TXG. NTRA near 52 wet high of $110. NVAX up 13% to $16.84 with product launch in AUGUST.
Update-2 5/17…DOW closes at new HIGH above 40,000, S&P up 0.12% at 5303. METALS take spotlight SLV up 6.39%, GDX up 3.39%, URA up 3.59%. BIOTECH momentum eases with XBI down 1.52% but holds technicals at 91.18, IBB down 0.44% at 136.69, XLV flattish up 0.19% at 146.31. More profit taking in NVAX down 9.65% to 13.01. MOST other SMID stocks weak after a wild week. Technology remains the leader up 2.9%.
BIG GAINERS in Life Science trades: IMTX up 1.39%, DNLI up 1.33%, TWST up 1.1%, VCEL up 1.55%.
LARGE CAPS mixed but ABBV, BIIB,MRK, RHHB, REGN, VRTX eke out small gains.

Update-1 5/15 3p EDT…Momentum rally continues with SMID Life Science stocks as Large Cap Biopharmas join with gains. SMID Gainers: ABOS, CPRX, CRNX. CRSP, DNLI, GERN, NTRA, ROIV, VCEL, VCYT. etc…but Novavax gets hit with profit taking down 4.71% to $12.86. CPI arrived less than expected up only 0.3% for APRIL.
- XBI up 2.05% at $92.63,IBB up 1.41% at $137.38.

Novavax Deal Sparks Biotech Rally
Select SMID Life Science stocks saw huge gains yesterday helped by deal news and strength in the XBI. Our list below was developed to track momentum and many of these speculative stocks rose with a sling-shot effect. It’s hard to account for the rally except it was fueled by the NOVAVAX news of the strategic partnership with Sanofi.
Novavax and their partnership with Sanofi have a clear shot at the non-mRNA vaccine market particularly if they can develop a combination COVID-19/FLU vaccine, now that JNJ has left the vaccine market.
Many of these stocks are highly speculative but do have analyst coverage but are well known to traders.
Many of the companies listed below have large cash positions and are trading near their 52 week lows.
