MOMENTUM Picks Up for Health Science Sector
On Monday we called a trading bottom for healthcare stocks and saw momentum picking for two Health Science sectors: SMID biotechs and MedTech.. Here is where we are on the sector YTD:
- Major ETFs are doing well this week after volatile sessions buffeted by AI and tech stocks: ARKG up 15.8 % t 27.31. IBB up 5.86% YTD at $139, XBI up. 4.65% at 94 XLV up 7.49%YTD at 147.5.
- MedTech sector is also doing well with the IHI up 10.76% YTD at $64.75.
We have summarized our Trading List below which has pre-screened stocks for financial and scientific parameters as well as momentum. This is not a buy and hold list but is being used to develop an algorithm for identifying SMID stocks with longer term potential.
We currently hold the following MedTech stocks: ABT, BDX, BSX, ILMN, ISRG and SYK. We hold two Health Science Funds : ARKG, and PRHSX,
