A LaNina Advisory was Issued on November 9
This weak LaNina generally affects climate as follows:
“The outlooks generally favor above-average temperatures and below-median precipitation across the southern tier of the United States, and below-average temperatures and above- median precipitation across the northern tier of the United States.”
In previous years LaNina has delivered great snow conditions across the Northwest and Northern California because of more precipitation with colder weather. Here is the 14 day outlook showing more wet weather.
NOAA shows heavy precipitation for the Sierras and the Northwest over the next few days.
It is snowing at Mammoth Mountain now with more than three feet expected through Thursday night.
Howard Sheckter is calling for a strong “AR” storm over 9000 feet with 30-50 inches of snow.
This strong AR storm sets the stage for a nice base for the season. Last season we had 29 inches of snow through November and a huge January.
